I just finished the "Arthur and George" novel and I really loved it. I thought I would start reading the "Arthur and George" play while the novel was fresh in my mind, but I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with that version. I read the playwright's afterword in which he talks about the challenges of adaptation. I admire the effort that went into condensing the novel, (and maybe it's just me) but I almost feel like he took out all the things I really loved about the original. Has anyone seen the play? Does it work better onstage with live actors?

HOW MANY BOOKS HAS J.B. WRITTEN ABOUT 2 MEN WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS? 5 or 6? AND WHY DON'T YOU TELL US THAT IT'S IAN MCWEAN WHO QUOTED “ Could a nation lose its capacity for skepticism for useful doubt? What if the muscle of contradiction simply atrophied from lack of exercise?”[/b] WE ALL KNOW THAT HE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN BARNES....

Being an AIKI,is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with an AIKA who did NOT buy your story... HOWEVER LAWS ARE LIKE SPIDERS' WEBS WHICH,IF ANYTHING SMALL (see GEORGE) FALLS INTO THEM THEY ENSNARE IT,BUT LARGE THINGS BREAK THROUGH AND ESCAPE...www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-4LrPO5aUU
